Sorry, Folks, not a lot of posting this week. Nothing to
worry about – but it’s been really busy and I’m tired when I get home!
The weather this week has been mixed, but predominantly
pleasant, a few heavy showers, but a lot of sunshine (as there often is at this
time of year), but maximum daytime temperatures haven’t been above 14C.
I’ve done quite a lot of teaching this week, including a
3-hour session to international postgraduates. It’s fun, but being ‘on-stage’
for a long time takes it out of me. Added to this, my spinal issues are still
having an impact on how long I can stand and what I can and can't do (I can’t, for
instance, carry a set of handouts across campus).
Anyway, what we’ve eaten this week:
TUESDAY
Turkey and peaches (I’ve
mentioned this before and it’s one of those odd things that taste much better
than they sound) with tagliatelle.
WEDNESDAY
Fish & Chips
Steak & Kidney
pie & chips (from the local chip shop ‘The Weoley Fryer’)
THURSDAY
Daube Nicoise (leftovers
from last week) with broccoli & mashed potatoes (Ali
cooked)
FRIDAY
Channa balti with
coriander & garlic naan (bit of a cheat this, sauces in jars,
chickpeas in tins, naan in a packet. Good though!)
We went out to eat on Saturday, so a post about that
follows.
